Based near Essaouira and Sidi Kaouki, our ride and stay and flexible riding packages offer the freedom to enjoy Morocco at your own pace, without being tied to a large group itinerary.

You can join structured riding experiences while still having time and space to relax, explore the local area, or simply enjoy the peaceful rhythm of rural Morocco. Daily breakfast and lunch whilst on rides are included but you are free to discover our local restaurants in the evening. 

Non-riding companions take advantage of the many other activities available in Sidi Kaouki including surfing, kitesurfing, hiking and mountain biking...or they can simply relax by the pool.

Who are these horse rides suitable for?

Our rides cater to a wide range of riders:

What is included in a ride?

Each ride description includes a list of what is and isn't included. All our treks include:

  • Well-schooled Arab and Barb horses

  • Experienced local Amazigh riding guides

  • English-style tack with saddlebags for your essentials

  • Carefully chosen routes that showcase the Essaouira region

  • Meals

  • Transfers

When are the rides available?

Our rides are offered year-round. Our Kasbah to Coast rides are only available from late September to lat June. 

Do you provide helmets?

Helmets are available and we advise that these are worn during your ride. For longer rides we find most people are more comfortable bringing their own. 

 

What should I bring and wear?

Upon booking, we provide clear guidance on what to wear and bring, including:

  • Long trousers

  • Riding boots

  • Sun protection

  • Sun glasses

  • A light jacket for longer rides

 

Can I book a private or bespoke ride?

Yes. We offer private and bespoke treks tailored to your schedule, riding ability, and personal preferences, providing a fully customised Moroccan horse riding experience. 

 

Who guides the rides?

All rides are led by experienced local Amazigh guides, who know the terrain intimately and prioritise safety, horse welfare, and creating a meaningful, memorable journey.

 

What levels of riders are accommodated?

For most of our riding holidays you must be able to control a forward going horse over open ground. You should be able to ride in 2-point canter without balancing on your reins. 

You should have a level of riding fitness and be comfortable spending 4-6 hours a day in the saddle. ​

Our ride and sleep packages are open to all levels of rider.
